Nestled amongst the foothills of the Brokenback Ranges in the heart of the Hunter vineyards is Hunter Valley Gardens , one of Australia 's premier tourist destinations.

Created by Bill Roche, who along with his family form the Australian owned company Roche Group, the entire property now spans over 700 acres.   Purchased by the Roche Group in 1998, the key components of this award-winning property include the 4 ½ star Tallawanta Lodge & Conference Centre, Harrigan's Irish Pub & Accommodation, Lazzarini's Restaurant, Roche Wines, Hunter Valley Gardens Village, BBQ and picnic grounds, children's playground and a beautiful Chapel for private services, weddings or christenings.

The "Jewel in the Crown" however, is of course the Hunter Valley Gardens themselves – 60 acres of spectacular international display Gardens. With over eight kilometres of walking paths, visitors are able to explore each of the twelve individual feature gardens consisting of more than six thousand trees, one million ground covers and six hundred thousand shrubs and a range of statuary, that will amaze you with sensational sights, colours, fragrances and adventures all of a standard you won't see elsewhere in Australia.
